About the Foundation
Established in 1985, the ARTBA Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF) is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt entity designed to support “research, education and public awareness” about the many benefits of U.S. transportation investment.
The Foundation hosts scholarship and awards programs, professional development courses, safety certificate and training, a transportation exhibition at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, and a facility dedicated to improving safety in roadway construction zones.
Safety Center
The Safety Center provides training and information to improve the safety and well-being of workers, motorists, cyclists, pedestrians, and their families by making project sites worldwide zero-incident zones.
Hall of Fame
The Transportation Development Hall of Fame honors individuals or families from the public and private sectors who have made extraordinary contributions to U.S. transportation development over their lifetime and demonstrated exceptional leadership.
Scholarship & Awards
The annual awards programs highlight industry safety excellence and efforts to advance women leaders, and the scholarship provides post-high school assistance to the children of highway workers killed or permanently disabled on the job.
Leadership Development
The Industry Leader Development Program provides rising industry leaders with a solid understanding of industry economics, how transportation is funded and financed and how they can become politically engaged to help shape transportation policy.
